Dele Alli continues to be an over indulged time waster.
We’ve heard it all – on a loop.
‘He’s young‘ except he isn’t any more. At 23 years of age the boy should be hitting his ‘most wanted‘ years, but professionally, Dele has flatlined.
At MK Dons the lad was imperious, a genuine one man team. At Spurs however, we’ve had nothing more than glimpses.
How bigger stage does this narcissistic little no mark need, before fans see a player that’s actually worth the hype?
Alli’s Champions League final showing was disgraceful. Utterly disgraceful. This was the European Cup final and instead of showing the world how good is he is, we got a chancer modelling an invisibility cloak.

I’ll start this with saying I agree with most if not all of the criticism of dele these last two years. With that said, for me this year will be the defining one. He was injured a fair amount two years ago & let’s be honest, I cant think of a single spurs player that played for England last summer who had a particularly stellar year. He has flashes of brilliance but that’s far outweighed by his disappearing acts. This year is it, theyre no more excuses left. He either buckles down & becomes the player hes capable of becoming or joins the long list of young talent that never made their potential. As for getting stewed on his girlfriends birthday while on holiday. Couldnt care less as long as hes ready for preseason. Yes, needs to learn how to use his left foot.
Yes he is old enough to know better and his bird should have had a word.Have they no sense between them?
Like a number of posters on here I think he has regressed over the last two seasons.He has too many off field activities going on.
This will be a defining season for Alli because if he doesn’t shape up the fans will get on his back.Hopefully N’Dombele’s arrival will enable him to settle into his preferred position and show what he threatened to in 2016-17.If not Poch has to be brave enough to drop him.

Interesting to note that some pundits are now saying Alli has technical limitations. I suspect they are referring to the complete lack of a left foot that I have been banging on about on this blog. During the CL final he got the ball on the goal line on the right side of their goal. He could not cut inside as just about every other player on the pitch would have done so smashed the ball into an onrushing defender to get a corner. It’s the same with all the flicks, they are mostly in situations where it’s the only way he can use his right foot to do anything other than pass backwards. Defenders have sussed him out but he can’t be bothered to put in the training effort to help overcome his glaring weakness all the time he has better things to do like invent silly hand signals and appear in tv adverts. What a W anchor.
That goal at Palace was probably a negative in the long run.
On the last blog. With the state of Arse and Chelsea what a period this could have been if Levy did the right thing when this team was on top…..now its another rebuild.

I had a heated discussion with another fan on the night of the CL Final when an attack broke down as he attempted yet another stupid ‘Flick’. This other fellow told me that ‘He was in the team coz sometimes he produces something’. Kevin De- Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, David Silva don’t ‘Produce something sometimes’, they do it consistently, and several times during the same match. Alli reminds me a little of David Bentley, work hard to ‘Make it’, then once you’ve ‘Made it’ you can slope around behaving like a superstar Primadonna !!

I’m not a fan of turn it on sometimes players. Dele. eriksen or anyone like it. But I’m gonna keep my patiencefaith with Dele. I so want him to do well as a man and a footballer. If he ups his game next season (he knows he bloody has to) he can get pissed up on his next holiday only hopefully next time with his wife. He’s too young to start a family really. He is the archetypal modern footballer. On adverts as a star but with no real substance in the game, clothing line, all the distractions….little of what a footballer should be. Models who run around a bit. Like I said, the way society is being sculpted the men’s and woman’s games will become closer and closer. Parts like Ali are the reason.
I lost respect for a few players in the CL final who went missing. Disgraceful. Alli is one culprit. Good riddance when he goes.

for me though, its the mid season antics, the ones on the pitch. His 2nd season was amazing, then he met his GF, changed agents and basically believed his own hype. Personally I am torn, as with a good midfield behind him, he could get back to it, but if we keep him too much longer, the other managers wont believe the hype either.
Its no coincidence that top teams are not being linked with him.

Been saying this for a while now. All the hype has gone to his head. He has his clothes brand, Fortnite, etc. Andrea Pirlo, commenting on the CL Final, said that Dele and Eriksen didn’t want the ball. I have huge respect for Mr Pirlo; never a loudmouth and one of the best midfielders of his generation so if he says something it’s best to take note. Cash in on both players while they still have value. Another season like the last and they’ll be worth jack all.

Tbf, no attacker on either side performed to their best in the CL final. If dele has his full fitness back this season and is played in his most effective role (which Ndombele signing will now permit), I expect his numbers will go back to what they were. He remains a poch and crowd favourite so cannot see him being dropped let alone sold.
