It’s another Premier League season, and of course, it’s another collection of massive howlers in the transfer market from Tottenham, who so far have lost out on two major deals that were thought to be ‘all but done’.
Morgan Gibbs-White displayed his undying loyalty to Nottingham Forest by rejecting a multi-million pound deal with Spurs in favour of an enhanced one-year deal with his existing club. Just when that wasn’t humiliating enough, Arsenal nipped in and swiped Eberechi Eze from under our noses, while it was suggested that Palace were in the process of looking for a replacement.
That failure was so funny, the electrical retailer Currys couldn’t resist taking the mickey out of the Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, in this sickeningly well-timed social media post on the X platform.

So what do Tottenham odds currently look like? By far the best way of assessing today’s offers in the football betting markets comes from using Oddschecker. It is by far the most comprehensive site for the latest free bets and sign-up offers from all the UK bookmaker betting sites.
Spurs are currently 11/2 to win a major trophy this term, although Daniel Levy’s recent words on the club’s aspirations appear to be a little too ambitious for most bookmakers. The chairman said:
“You saw the outpouring of emotion with the parade [after Spurs beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final to win their first piece of silverware in 17 years]. It was just incredible. We’ve won a European trophy,” Levy said on the club’s official website. But it’s not enough. We want to win the Premier League. We want to win the Champions League.”
However, Tottenham are as far out as 750/1 to win the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
It is hesitancy in the marketplace which can separate winners and losers in the race to get premium talent over the line. As a result, Tottenham have been left reeling by the collapse of two high-profile moves in a matter of weeks.
Reputational damage in football can be colossal, and the board at Spurs will be well aware of the likely chaos that may ensue as the business is understandably viewed as not being quite at the same level as some of its Premier League counterparts.
With just a few weeks to run, all eyes will be on how Tottenham respond to what has been a fraught couple of weeks, which has resulted in a fair amount of mocking.
It is time for Spurs to mount a serious comeback.
