“can someone tell me why” – O’Hara left shocked with what Ange did during win vs Liverpool

Former Tottenham midfielder turned pundit Jamie O’Hara has admitted he was left confused by Ange Postecoglou’s decision to take Son off during the match against Liverpool.

Tottenham beat Liverpool 2-1 last night in what was an entertaining affair.

The match saw Liverpool go down a man and goal down in the first half but Spurs had luck on their side with a horrible VAR mistake working in their advantage.

Luis Diaz had scored a legitimate goal but VAR chalked it off despite him onside.

But moments later Liverpool had equalised with Gakpo scoring in the first half stoppage time.

But it was Spurs who came out of the game as winners after Joel Matip scored a 96th minute own goal to win it for the North London club.

During the game, Jamie O’Hara admitted his shock at Ange taking Son off in the 69th minute.

He posted on X:

“I’m on air watching the game can someone tell me why Son got took off? Surely this is his moment”

Ange Postecoglou later admitted that he took off the South Korean star due to fitness issues.

The Australian said that the Tottenham captain was never going to play the entire game.

He said (via Football London):

“Look, he wasn’t 100 per cent but I had a chat with him yesterday and he was desperate to play. He was going to give what he could and he did.

“He was never going to play the whole 90, we were always going to give him an hour or so but he led from the front again and he was the one doing the pressing.”
