‘can see the deal getting done’: Insider claims Tottenham have ‘advantage’ in the race for 26-year-old

John Wenham believes that Tottenham have an edge over their Premier League rivals in the chase for Eberechi Eze’s services.

Eberechi Eze has gone from strength to strength since making the move to Crystal Palace in the summer of 2020. He has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League on the back of his consistent performances and multiple top clubs are now keen on prising him away from the Eagles.

Eze was involved in 31 outings last season, he managed to find the back of the net on 11 occasions and even bagged six assists. His performances have put him on the radar of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. But, the owner of Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, John Wenham believes Tottenham have an advantage in their pursuit and he feels they will end up winning the race for his signature.

While talking to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “Eze can play in numerous positions, and he is a homegrown, Premier League experienced player who wouldn’t need to relocate and would be earning a much higher salary.

“In addition, he is represented by CAA Base, who represent some of the most high-profile players at Spurs. That offers the club an advantage

“Therefore, I could see us signing Eze. You have to be careful not to get blown out of the water by Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool.

“However, Tottenham want him, they have laid the groundwork, and I can see the deal getting done”

Eze is represented by CAA Base Ltd, which could be a significant advantage for Spurs since their stars James Maddison, Son Heung-min and Pedro Porro are also represented by the same agency along with their manager Ange Postecoglou.

It could prove to be key in Spurs’ pursuit of the 26-year-old’s signature. A move to North London will mean the player wouldn’t need to relocate and would be earning a much higher salary. While there is interest from rivals United, Chelsea and Liverpool, Wenham is quite confident about Tottenham securing the services of Eze as they have already laid the groundwork.
