“Can happen” – Club director hints at potential loan deals with Spurs

By Mehdi Gokal -

Djurgarden’s sporting director has hinted at a potential long-term partnership with Tottenham regarding loan deals for the talented players.

In a notable development, Bosse Andersson was spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during Spurs’ Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Swedish club’s sporting director was personally invited by Daniel Levy, chairman of Tottenham, to attend the London derby as his guest.

Andersson enjoyed VIP treatment during his visit, including the opportunity to take selfies with Levy and Tottenham captain Son Heung-Min.

The meeting holds significance as it comes following Tottenham’s recent signing of Djurgardens’ young midfield talent, Lucas Bergvall.

During the winter transfer window, Spurs secured Bergvall’s commitment with a five-year contract, reportedly for €10 million.

The teenager will remain with Djurgardens until the end of the season before making the move to North London in July.

Swedish outlets have suggested that as part of the deal, there’s a potential for Spurs’ players to be loaned out to Djurgardens in the future.

Andersson expressed openness to this possibility, and even used Tottenham’s iconic player Teddy Sheringham as an ideal example, who spent a successful season at the Swedish club in 1985.

In an interview with Fotbollskanalen (as relayed by Fotboll Direkt), Andersson emphasised the potential benefits of such a partnership:

“If we feel that it is an opportunity for us and Tottenham see an opportunity, and the player agrees to it, then… (it could be relevant).

If you can loan a player to Poland, why can’t you do it to Sweden? Teddy Sheringham was in Djurgarden for a whole season in 1985. It went pretty well for him.

That was a long time ago, but it is clear that such situations can happen again. We have a good league in Sweden.”

This potential partnership presents an exciting opportunity for Spurs’ youth players to gain valuable experience and exposure in a different footballing environment, contributing significantly to their development and growth as footballers.
