“But what has happened to him?” Pundit says this midfielder is on his last Tottenham chance

Sky Sports pundit Michael Bridge believes Harry Winks will probably not get another chance to succeed at Tottenham if it doesn’t happen under Antonio Conte.

The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs and he is now behind Oliver Skipp.

However, he was one of Spurs’ most trusted players under the management of Mauricio Pochettino and he even started the Champions League final against Liverpool in 2019.

The arrival of Antonio Conte means he has yet another manager to impress in his attempts to win a place back in the team.

Bridge wonders what has happened to the midfielder and insists this is certainly his last chance.

He told GiveMeSport: “In terms of players who are potentially on the way out, Harry Winks, I’ll mention him again, I know majority of Tottenham fans don’t like him and with justification, but this was a guy that was man of the match against Real Madrid, a regular in that Champions League run, but what has happened to him? This is his final roll of the dice at Spurs.”

Winks’ fall from the Tottenham starting XI to a squad player has been surprising, but it also shows how fast football moves on from anyone.

The midfielder has watched the club sign the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and also brought back Skipp from his loan spell away last season.

The two of them continue to impress and are making it hard for any manager to look beyond them.

Winks will get his chance to impress Conte every day in training and when it comes in a match, he has to take it regardless of the opponent or competition. It is all on him now.
