Le Parisien believe that one hand will wash the other at Real Betis, this summer.
Olympique Lyonnais’ captain Nabil Fekir could be in integral to Giovani Lo Celso’s move to London.
The French outlet’s François David, a correspondent in Barcelona thinks that Lo Celso’s fee will be reinvested in Fekir.
Once the Argentine is transferred, the Sevillan leaders will try to complete the operation with the “board” of Lyon, namely our old pal, Jean-Michel Aulas.
This is an interesting appraisal from David, as it shows us the pressure on both sides of the Lo Celso coin.
My view take is that Betis need the Lo Celso cash to bring in the Lyon captain, and Tottenham arguably need Christian Eriksen sold in order to pay Betis.
Is Eriksen unsellable? At €70million for a 27-year-old, the list of potential buyers will be a modest one. That’s the kind version.
Should the Dane find a Premier League suitor, then that price will understandably be increased.
If Lo Celso to Spurs happens, it will be the late late show and no amount of Fekir talk will influence that.

Why would any club pay anything for Eriksen, much less 70M, when he can sign an intent deal on a free as early as this Jan? That’s less than 6mo away, he’d be there in less than 12.
The only clubs with that kind of money to throw around aren’t going to do it on a player who’s really good but not “galactico” level when he can be had for nothing a year down the line while still having 4-5 good years left in him. Eriksen’s problem is that he’s inconsistent and didn’t exactly rip up trees last season. He’s not a juggernaut of social media and the accompanying merchandise sales someone like Pogba brings.
And for Eriksen himself, another year at Spurs, then walking on a free where he’ll be able to negotiate a giant singing bonus because the club didn’t have to pay anything for him…where’s the downside for him (other than getting run into the ground because we have a thin squad?). He’ll got to Spain or Italy on a free next season, Juve probably licking their chops at the prospect of an Aaron Ramsey type repeat and he could play in that league for another 5 -7 years.
But they haven’t come Calling, nobody has….
And time ticks on…….
I’m surprised our man Daniel hasn’t tried to sue CE for breach of contract after last seasons
performances. He certainly doesnt resemble a footballer…… and not one worth £70million
Failed a drug test, now in rehab.
Just straight swap him for isco&dun&run. We robbed dem.
One thing letting Toby move on a free next year but Eriksen going for free would see have Daniel sectioned!!
We either have to shift him or offer him a King’s ransom in wages then shift him next summer for roughly what we can get this year!!
Don’t think there is any way of Eriksen and Lo Celso in this years squad together!
Plus we’ve not even got round to dealing with the full back situation that needs addressing just because MP grafts his full backs like there in a North Korean labour camp!!
We also need someone to really push Kane! Seriously need another forward! I know Son and Lucas can play there but it would mean not flogging Arry like a dead horse the hole season long!!
I think a lot of transfers are going to go into the last week! The merry go round hadn’t really started!!
We need Utd to definitively state Pogba is staying put in and moving in with Ben and Sean for safe keeping!!
Dier broken again! must have caught something off Coco.
We do need striker cover badly. Some say it’s not necessary because of Son, well if that were the case why is Harry flogged half to death every season? Fact is Poch doesn’t want to play Son as no.9 obviously. So ffs short, bald twat get it sorted finally, and preferably not with a candidate for dads army. We’re supposed to be a young team not as rescue home for worn out strikers.
Guys we need to keep in mind the whole squad was sub par because of the world cup, not just CE, they were knackered, not helped by the fact that there is no cover for most of them. The CL final was just a fluke, we lost 20 matches for goodness sake. 70m euros is a snip for CE, 27 is no great age for a midfielder, some would say prime in fact.
Bet the silly twat wishes he actually tried last year now eh, could be sat in Madrid now, as it is the performance level was that low Macclesfield might think twice. Needs to get him on a new contract with a gentleman agreement that he will be sold nxt summer, which should remind him he needs to play well. Failing that gardening leave
The problem is that we still have is the squad from last season which generally played boring possession football. Was this erics fault, dell boys, the coach or maybe us fans who have the audacity to want to be entertained?
Week after next from the week before last is now. Players gonna start coming in. Demballer is only here (early) because he wasn’t involved in the African and south American cups. Levy do your ting, Don’t let me down again please. Glory brings your main lov£. Poch. Keep your foot firmly down mate. COYS. England. Swing the oak.
Silverstone lords or Wimbledon? What a choice. Think I’d chose Silverstone. Lewis. Spit rubber on them.
Well put Coys1882 and totally agree ,this will all get sorted out last week type of thing in the merry go round of clubs and money ,so for poch and maybe Le celso no pre-season. There has been lots of talk about Trips going abroad this year ,do people really think thats his wish ,doesnt seem the type to speak fluent Italian and want to try a new culture etc. On the striker situation or lack off its a fucking shambles, this has been going on for about 4 years now ,4 years of not having a competent second choice and using a glorified winger and winging it or using Llorente which was a rush desperate late purchase.[i appreciate some performances last season]. To be harsh even using Kane [as we were desperate] seemed some what of a fluke at the time and i gobsmacked at his improvement. Look at the other top 5 teams in other leagues and compare ,plain bad management. Kane needs resting he has lost his turn of pace from 3 seasons ago and now has dodgy ankles. No chat about a striker and fuck all from the academy unless they want to try that 17/18 year old Irish bloke.
Levy you utter tube.
Tottenhams M bar. Two coffees with two croissants tenner. (Lovely through) possibly the best croissant I’ve ever had in this country. Tottenham hotspuds cafe just round the corner two English breakfasts with coffee or tea and toast with a newspaper to read same price. Most of the people in the M bar work at Tottenham. My punctuation is rubbish. Maybe its because I’ve never needed it to make a living! ?
He wasn’t the only one though was he? Remember every season prior to that – a great player. RM don’t come calling if you’re crap.
This bringing in players late to save I dunno £10-15 million makes no sense to me. But to levy its nearly two years wages for his manager.
Not many clubs tick more bixes than tottenham. Location location location.
In my opinion Erikssen has had his head turned, one would suspect by an approach from Real Madrid, indicating interest in his services. This evidently did not come from Zidane, as the laid back, understated, Erikssen, temperamentally, does not seem to be his type of player. So, the approach may have originated from Perez, possibly before Zidane was re-appointed as manager.
The problem now, as H has described, is the very limited market for his services, particularly given his clearly expressed desire to leave only if it is a step up. City and Liverpool could be considered a small step up, plus Real Madrid and Barcelona and arguably Juve or Bayern. That’s it. Now if we cannot flog him to one of those teams and City and Liverpool are almost certainly out of the question, then unless Utd show interest and he can be persuaded to move there, he will be staying with us.
That could be a very delicate situation. We can’t afford to let Erikssen walk in 12 months, on a ‘free’, therefore we have to use every ounce of diplomacy in the book to get him to sign a new contract. This in itself might be tricky, but it also doesn’t take into account how Poch feels about him at this point. If Erikssen’s expressed desire to leave has put him on the wrong side of Poch, then that is a further problem. A swap for Isco, or Ceballos and a bit of cash, might be the best we can hope for at this point, unless he is willing to totally refocus on his Spurs career and sign a new contract.
