Tottenham are looking to improve their midfield unit when the transfer window re-opens in the coming weeks.
They will look to sign a quality midfielder when the transfer window reopens in January. According to Football Insider, Tottenham believe they need upgrades in the middle of the park, and it will be interesting to see who they end up signing.
In recent weeks, they have been linked with the 26-year-old AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. However, the report states that a move for the Dutchman is “highly unlikely” in January. Milan will not want to lose a key player midway through the season, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to test their resolve with an offer.
They will have to wait until the summer transfer window in order to sign the Milan midfielder.
Spurs need someone who can control the tempo of the game from the deep and add creativity to the site as well. Reijnders could prove to be a quality acquisition. The technically gifted Dutchman has the quality to succeed in the Premier League and he could be an important player for Tottenham.
The North London club have the financial muscle to get the deal done as well, and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Ideally, they should look to bring in a backup option to Yves Bissouma as well. They are lacking in depth when it comes to the defensive midfield department.
Spurs have started the season reasonably well and they will look to secure Champions League qualification for the next season. Signing the right players in January could help them finish the season strongly. It will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right reinforcements in the coming weeks.
