Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a setback as Giovani Lo Celso is now ruled out of the upcoming crucial match against Manchester United on Sunday.
It was reported yesterday that Lo Celso has picked up a hamstring injury during the FA Cup win against Burnley, and that the severity of the damage is uncertain.
Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick shared the update on the Argentinean midfielder, confirming that he will not be able to make it for the game against Manchester United.
This comes as a blow for Spurs who are already short of midfield options at the moment. Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr will not be available due to their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Additionally, James Maddison remains sidelined, although he is expected to return to full training next week. The absence of these players leaves Spurs with limited midfield options, featuring only Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Oliver Skipp.
This could mean Dejan Kulusevski could start as a number 10 again, a role he has recently excelled in with standout performances.
We could also see new signing Timo Werner in action on Sunday. They have also agreed to sign Radu Dragusin, but whether he is ready in time for the game on Sunday remains to be seen.
