‘…bit of Batistuta and a little bit of Drogba’ Spurs target gets a glowing refernce

Of course, one never really knows how much of anything to believe, last week we were told by the German press that Harry Kane’s wife was house hunting in Bavaria. Quite how Kate found the energy for all that is beyond me, given that she’s due to go into labour next month.

However, if Harry Kane were to turn his back on Tottenham and cast his valiant efforts at breaking Alan Shearer’s goal-scoring records into history’s dustbin, then Daniel Levy would need to find a worthy replacement. If anyone thinks finding the right men for Spurs’ backline is a tough gig, then sourcing a striker who comes close to Kane is next-level difficult.

Journalist Paul Brown told Football Fancast that one name worth plenty of consideration was the much-discussed Dušan Vlahović.

A predatory number nine sounds exciting and the type of player that Ange Postecoglou might feel was a good fit for his own system, especially given the arrival in N17 of the attacking midfield presence of James Maddison.

Talk in recent hours has been that Dušan Vlahović has agreed personal terms with PSG for the Juventus striker, but as we know, in football, nothing is done until it is actually done.

TBH Says: Spurs are somewhat up against it right now and some certainty in the market is desperately needed. Of course, agents will play their games, but clubs as big as Tottenham need to make their presence known. The vibe around Spurs at the moment feels as if we are not dictating events, but rather just waiting to see what unfolds.
