Home » Beware Of Jadon Sancho
My thanks to Sam Blackaby

Tonight’s key game is one that has thrown up some fantastic yet varied games in recent years.

The sides met in the Europa League last 16 in the 15/16 season, with Dortmund coming out winners in both legs (3-0 and 1-2) and they also met in the Champions League group stage in the 17/18 season with Spurs finishing victorious each time (3-1 and 1-2).

In these previous meetings, both teams have scored and there’s been over 2.5 goals each time aswell which could be something to go by from a betting perspective.

Heung-Min Son has scored in his last 3 games against Dortmund and has scored 10 in his last 10 club games, fortunately for Spurs he’s been a shining light in an otherwise injury ridden side.

Harry Kane is still ruled out with his ongoing knee injury, Dele Alli is expected to return in March (hamstring) and Pochettino has ruled Danny Rose out of the starting line-up and will be assessed to potentially return to the bench following a shin wound at the weekend.

Dortmund are to be without Captain Marco Reus, the 3 time player of the month winner in the Bundesliga this season. He sustained a thigh injury in their German Cup defeat against Werder Bremen and will miss tonight’s game again, but it does leave a huge opportunity for Jadon Sancho.

Footage of Sancho in Dortmund’s recent game v s Hoffenheim.

The 18 year old Englishman has been setting the Bundesliga alight scoring 7 goals and creating a further 9 goals in what truly seems like a breakthrough in his promising career but he is still yet to register any goal contribution in the UCL.

With a lack of Kane and a lack of Reus, this game could boil down to how clinical the remaining offensive options can be. With the two clubs history against each other, this game could be a goal fest and even more so with Dortmund’s 6 goals conceded in their last 2 games.

2-1 to Spurs for me.

Watching those highlights is like watching City. Fluid forward movement, at pace.

It’s possible they could tear us a new one tonight.
