Tottenham’s Troy Parrott has struggled since arriving in England, however, there are small green shoots in the prospects’ numbers that suggest he’s improving.
This goal against Crewe Alexandra (above) was well taken, but elsewhere there’s a slow and steady improvement in passing accuracy, and he’s certainly losing possession less frequently than he was.
This is League One and the boy that signed for Spurs when he was 17, is now a 20-year-old.
Surely you mean magnificent…
Is that the Icarus Quim model..
But they didn’t ..was floating around as Hitchenaride was being shown the door at Spurs..
Good shout Parrott being loaned out abroad..may keep him a little further from temptation.
It’s all about consistency with this lad ..he has been decent before ..but has been distracted too easily ruining his form…Smells like Dele Spirit..needs to decide want he wants to be.
Read somewhere Everton were considering approaching our old mate Hitchen. Poor sods.
But at least his 300 grand souped-up Rolls Royce adds a bit of glamour to Finch Farm, so it’s not all bad.
Nice to know that Levy isn’t the only nitwit around when it comes to transfers!
Chelsea snap up the best young talent. They don’t win or get in to the FA Youth Cup final nearly every year because of the coaching. When you have the best players that team invariably wins. They guilt parents in to signing with them with the reputation built on having more money. Every now and again we might unearth a gem, but they expect it year on year.
Will need to secure a loan at a decent championship club next season and have a Skipp-esque meteoric rise to be one of the top scorers in the league before I get too excited.
I was reading over the weekend reports from the coaches of the Irish football team on how impressed they are with the improvement in Troys all round game and attitutude. Perhaps the penny has dropped. He scored an injury time belter for Ireland.
Stunningly stupid purchase
See Dele isn’t in the Everton team again. Obviously Lamps doesn’t fancy him either.
Vs Deles early rise it might be better waiting
True, but he’s not even playing in the C-ship. Kane’s late rise was exceptional.
Much as I dislike praising Chelsea, they appear to have done well selling youth players for decent money who don’t make the grade at their own club. They have also brought through some of their own home grown players with the likes of Reece James, Chalobah, Mount and Loftus-Cheek playing regularly for the first team. Despite our world class training facilities, we have brought through very few youth players and despite having reputedly one of the best stadiums in the world, we win nothing. There is a common link here which is quite simply that bricks and mortar are all that matter to Enic.
As for Parrott., I will be amazed if he become a regular first team player for us.
The lads 20, he’s might have had more press than Kane at the same age.
Being feed stories of what world class training facilities, is it any wonder fans were calling out the potential of this lad.
He feels he’s been around a while, though he probably has another year of loan(s) in the Championship (or Dortmund) before a fairer decision could be made in the lad.
With Scarlett the current and previous managers golden boy of potential we might not see Troy really play for us, as we are not a club who like to many strikers on the books in recent times, oh the days when we had 4.
A lot of players don’t make it in there youth team clubs but still go onto relative success, Patrick Bamford anyone. This might be the way Troy goes.
He scored a great goal for Ireland in a friendly recently. It looks like Celtic will buy Cameron Carter-Vickers for a deal worth between £6-10 million depending on add ons
If we can polish up Parrott and get a similar amount if he doesn’t turn out to be Premier League ready then that Is a win. We might not value these players but other clubs do.
Too little too late I’d say.
