AS hints at another reason why one Spurs star hasn’t traveled to South Korea

Tottenham Hotspur has made headlines with the additions they have made this summer. Still, the north London club will need to begin offloading players that manager Antonio Conte may not consider for next season. One of the names is defender Sergio Reguilón.

Although Reguilón might not be part of the future at Spurs, the 25-year-old has a market. AS reports that Sevilla is interested in a possible reunion, considering the left-back played for the La Liga side in 2019-20.

The report intriguingly adds that Sergio didn’t travel because he has a groin issue. Naturally, this doesn’t preclude the boy not being in Conte’s plans, but the situation isn’t entirely clear…

Spurs paid €30 million for Reguilón in 2020, so they’ll be looking to at least recoup their initial investment in the Spain international. The defender could be open to a deal as he might want a starter role ahead of the FIFA World Cup later this year.

Reguilón made 31 appearances this past season, scoring two goals and scoring three assists. Nonetheless, Tottenham opted to find an upgrade at his position, adding Ivan Perišić this summer on a free transfer.
