Arsenal will make Tottenham target a £275,000-a-week offer to beat them to his signature

Tottenham and Arsenal are battling for Lautaro Martinez and both clubs are keen to be the one that brings him to London.

He won the Italian league with Inter Milan last season and remains one of the best Argentinian strikers in Europe.

He has watched as Inter dismantles the team that won the Scudetto last season and might ask to leave the Milan club.

Tottenham wants to add him to their squad where he would partner Harry Kane in their attack if the England captain stays at the club.

He could also become a replacement for Kane should Tottenham eventually cash in on him.

Eurosport says Arsenal is very keen to beat Tottenham to Martinez’s signature and the Gunners are prepared to make him a huge salary offer.

He is currently in talks with Inter over a contract extension and it is unclear how much they are offering him.

However, the report claims that Arsenal is prepared to pay him £275,000-a-week if he joins them.

That offer might be too much for Tottenham to compete against, especially if they still keep Kane as he would be on a higher salary than the Premier League top scorer.
