Antonio Conte: Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur fit Tottenham philosophy

This past January window, Tottenham Hotspur made a swoop for Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur. Spurs manager Antonio Conte spoke to the media, where he discussed the arrival of the two players.

Conte stated that they landed the two players due to them fitting the philosophy the manager and Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici want to build at Tottenham.

“We signed two new players – Rodrigo Bentacur and Dejan Kulusevski. These two players are the right prospect for the Tottenham philosophy,” Conte said, per Sky Sports

“They’re young players, talented players to develop and improve. They are important players in the future, but we know you need time to do this. But for the philosophy of Tottenham, these are two good signings for us.”

The additions help add another forward to the group, and they hope the Sweden international can provide some scoring depth behind Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Meanwhile, with the departures of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, and Dele Alli, there are plenty of minutes to spare for Bentancur in the midfield should he seize the opportunity.

Conte will have some pressure on his shoulders to get the best out of these two players who weren’t solid starters in the Juventus. Furthermore, Spurs hope that this is also the start of transfers begin panning out for them.
