Another opportunity beckons and now is the time to put Spursy to bed

Being referred to as Spursy is very irritating but it will never stop until Tottenham stop being, well, Spursy.

We all know what is meant by that term, it means to basically bottle it and truth be told, Spurs have mastered that art in recent years and if there was ever an opportune moment to put that awful term to bed, it is now.

Today Chelsea got an absolute thrashing at the hands of West Brom and that means a win over Newcastle United tomorrow and Tottenham go fourth.

Now, West Ham and Everton, with their respective games in hands can dislodge us from that fourth spot, but these two still have to play each other and that means at least one of them must drop points.

Oh, and we still have Everton to play as well.

We are now very close to having top four in our own hands and the chances are very high that will be the case if we keep on winning.

No doubt some will point out that Tottenham still has Leicester City and Man Utd to play, however, the way I look at that is that wins over those two and second is not beyond our reach.

What a turnaround a couple of weeks make, after the Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb debacles the calls went out for Jose Mourinho to be sacked, within 24 hours he could be fourth, strange how fortunes change so dramatically.

That said, we have been here before this season and each time we have been found wanting, thus the Spursy barbs but the lads can put that to bed, at least temporarily, if they do what we expect them to do and that is beat the Geordies tomorrow.
