Ange Postecoglou names the Tottenham player who could come in for Son vs Man United amid injury concerns

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has not ruled out the possibility of young midfielder Mikey Moore making his first Premier League start against Manchester United on Sunday, following an injury concern to captain Heung-min Son.

Son, a key figure in the Spurs lineup, is dealing with a hamstring issue that has placed his participation in doubt.

Postecoglou remains optimistic about Son’s recovery, mentioning that the forward is eager to train on Saturday, but a final decision will only be made closer to the game.

With the potential absence of Son, along with attackers Wilson Odobert and Richarlison, Tottenham’s attacking options are stretched.

Postecoglou acknowledged the team’s limited choices upfront and suggested that Moore, alongside players like Dejan Kulusevski and Timo Werner, could come into the mix to fill the void. Speaking ahead of the Manchester United game, as quoted by TEAMtalk, the Australian coach said:

“Timo and Mikey can certainly come into the frame. We have Deki Kulusevski who can play wide as well so we’ve got some options there, but firstly we’ll see how Sonny is.”

At just 17 years old, Moore’s inclusion in the matchday squad would be a significant step in his development. The England U17 international has been making waves in the Tottenham youth ranks, netting 14 goals and providing 8 assists in just 12 U18 Premier League games last season. (Transfermarkt)

His impressive performances have earned him a spot in first-team training towards the end of last season, catching the eye of Postecoglou.

If selected, Moore could be set for a breakthrough moment at Old Trafford, offering Spurs a new attacking dimension.

With Tottenham facing key injuries, the young midfielder’s potential involvement could provide a fresh boost as the team looks to secure a strong result against Manchester United.
