Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season and take a sabbatical for management. Naturally, Liverpool have been linked with several managers and Postecoglou is reportedly a target to replace the German manager.
The 58-year-old Australian manager is a self-proclaimed Liverpool fan and he has done an impressive job in the Premier League since taking over at Tottenham. There have been links that he could be one of the candidates to replace Klopp at Liverpool but it seems that the Australian has now decided on his future.
A report from Football Insider states that Postecoglou will reject any offers to leave Tottenham this summer. He does not plan to abandon the project at the North London club and he will look to build on the good work he has done so far.
Tottenham have shown tremendous improvement under his management and they are currently pushing for Champions League qualification. They have impressed with their free-flowing attacking approach and they have brought in some exciting young talent as well.
Postecoglou will now look to guide them to the Champions League and help them win trophies in the coming seasons. As for Liverpool, they need to bring in a quality replacement for Klopp who has been an exceptional servant for the club since joining them in 2015.
Postecoglou’s decision will certainly come as a major blow for the Reds but the Tottenham fans will be delighted to see that the 58-year-old is committed to the project and he wants to stay for the long haul.
