Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has reportedly approved the pursuit of talented La Liga winger Ander Barrenetxea, according to The Sun’s latest report.
The Real Sociedad star has been under scrutiny by Spurs, with scouting efforts in November and December, but Arsenal from North London has also shown interest.
The report suggests that Postecoglou, drawing parallels between Barrenetxea and Jota from his time at Celtic, favours the player.
Eager to bolster the squad with another attacker this month, the Australian manager has given the ‘green light‘ to the club hierarchy to pursue a deal for the young winger.
The 22-year-old has made 136 appearances for Real Sociedad, scoring 15 goals and assisting 7.
Tottenham are currently facing limitations in left-wing options, with Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic both sidelined due to injuries, while club captain Heung-Min Son is unavailable due to commitments in the AFC Asian Cup.
The addition of Barrenetxea, known for his dynamic style of play, could bring immediate improvement to the Spurs squad,
