Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that defender Ryan Sessegnon missed the recent game against Manchester United due to a knock.
Sessegnon had just returned to action after being sidelined since the summer with a hamstring injury sustained during training.
He made his return against Burnley last week after being subbed on for the final 10 minutes, but it was not his best cameo.
And it is now revealed that he has picked up a knock again due to which he missed the game at Old Trafford.
After the game, he explained Sessegnon’s absence.
He said (via Football London):
“Ryan Sessegnon got a slight niggle from last week so he missed this week and will hopefully be available in a couple of weeks.”
Injuries have been a persistent issue for Sessegnon during his tenure at Spurs.
He has missed 21 games already this season. Last season, he was absent for 22 games, and in the season prior, he missed 31 games (Transfermarkt).
TBH Says:
Despite his undeniable potential, the recurring injury concerns may require us to contemplate selling him in the upcoming summer.
Destiny Udogie is proving to be an incredible signing and has established himself as the regular for the left-back role. But we need to sign a better back up for the position.
