Amiens want deadline day signing of Tottenham defender

French club, Amiens have emerged as a destination for Tottenham defender, Cameron Carter-Vickers on transfer deadline day, according to Sky Sports.

The defender spent last season out on loan at Bournemouth and he was in impressive form for the Cherries.

He had hoped he would get a chance to play for Tottenham in this campaign after returning to the club following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

One thing that current Spurs boss, Nuno Espirito Santo has been praised for is his desire to give chances to youth players.

Carter-Vickers would have dreamed of finally getting a chance to play regularly for the club.

However, he doesn’t seem ready and they have already signed Cristian Romero to add competition to their squad.

He was in the Tottenham team that lost to Paços de Ferreira in their first Europa Conference League match and may not play again this season.

His best chance would be to secure a move away and Sky Sport’s Kaveh Solhekol says Amiens has an interest in him.

He said on The Transfer Show: “Cameron Carter-Vickers could be leaving the club today. We told you earlier that Celtic were interested, but in the last few minutes, French club Amiens have made an offer to take him on loan with an option to buy next summer.

“That option only values him at €2m, and I think it’s unlikely that Spurs would sanction that move. But he is a player that could be on the move in the next few hours, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to Amiens.”
