Tottenham could face managerial changes as reports suggest Amanda Staveley is considering replacing current manager Ange Postecoglou.

According to The Sun, Staveley, who is close to finalising a significant investment in the club, has identified Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe as a potential successor if Postecoglou doesn’t improve Spurs’ on-field performance.

Staveley, a well-known figure in football investment, played a pivotal role in the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle United in 2021. Through that deal, she acquired a 10% ownership stake alongside the Saudi Public Investment Fund, cementing her influence within the club.

However, earlier this year, she and her husband decided to step away from Newcastle, selling their remaining shares, which had decreased from 10% to 6%.

Their attention now appears to have shifted towards Tottenham, with a recent report suggesting that the potential investment could be transformative for the club, as the consortium Staveley and Ghodoussi are heading may potentially inject “huge” funds into the club.

One of Staveley’s significant decisions at Newcastle was appointing Eddie Howe, who revitalised the club and made them top four contenders.

This success makes Howe an attractive option for Spurs should the Australian be replaced. Despite the speculation, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy continues to back his manager, who was appointed in June last year on a four-year contract.

New investment would make Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham uncertain

Ange Postecoglou made an instant impact at the club since coming in, with the positive impact visible on and off the pitch. Most notable change is the attractive brand of attacking football he has instilled, something which the club lacked since Mauricio Pochettino.

Even though the club has made their worst start in 16 years this season, the results do not reflect the performances the team has put in.

Ange has however come under some criticism, but he remains confident in his ability to guide the team forward.

However, Staveley’s potential investment and admiration for Howe bring uncertainty regarding Postecoglou’s future.

If the deal is finalised and Spurs fail to meet expectations, a managerial change could be looming, with Howe as a top contender.
