“Alright Pinocchio” Sadly, The Latest Quotes Out Of Hotspur Way Are Widely Ridiculed|video

I genuinely feel sorry for Nuno Espírito Santo, despite every single step he took towards accepting this poisoned chalice of a job having been heavily signposted, he still took it.

Perhaps there is more to the man than meets the eye and, like Michael Caine when he agreed to star in ‘Jaws 3’, he was simply focused upon putting his children through a private education system.

I would try to find positive responses to this inaugural presser, but the truth is any such comments would be unrepresentative of the mood of the broader fanbase. Sure, there’s probably some kid on Reddit/coys making yahoo!– type noises, but the general reaction to this conference has been immensely negative, to put it mildly.

There were many other responses, but we simply cannot publish them.

Still a large number of our fanbase putting their faith in ENIC. The grounds for such optimism is a mystery to me. ENIC have failed us and themselves at every turn. Profits will be down a lot with no Champions League. I feel merchandise sales will steadily decline. A hammering to start from Man City will create a suitably toxic atmosphere. 5 years from now and the stadium will be mostly populated with tourists. Most real fans will have had enough by then. The club we love is being slowly killed off to creat a money printing franchise for Lewis and our beloved Daniel.

I don’t share your optimism! Dier should have been out of the door weeks ago. But then there have been no offers for him unsurprisingly.

Mourinho has favourites, and clearly alienates those that dont make that list. Maybe Nuno’s more pleasant, inclusive demeanour will have build a better team spirit, which in turn might coax an unexpected performance out of a few of our wage thieves.

Doherty may rediscover some form, Sonny may get back to his best, even Dier was good… once upon a time.

I draw the line at Winks mind you.

Harsh. You’d prefer Mason in charge maybe?

We might see a few decent results at the start before the same guys down their tools again. The problem isn’t that the team were completely disinterested, but that they seemed to be interested only when playing absolute dross at home. In the second half of the season, anything approaching a decent team beat us with minimum fuss.

This squad is incredibly fairweather and that has to change. We need more players of Hojbjerg’s quality and/or mentality.

Oh my, how terribly dry and scripted in complete contrast to John Lennon facing the American press to justify his Beatles are bigger than God quote (try watching it, a tour de force).

You just wish he would throw in some much needed humour Terry Veg or Harry Redknapp style. Either incapable or afraid to go off piste.

Slightly off topic but if you want to see the definition of delusion i would recommend a viewing of our own chairman’s LinkedIn account. I wasn’t aware that he and Lewis took over the club due to the fans overwhelming desire for change and that our numerous managerial changes were indeed a well devised strategy. We really are lucky to have him.

Watching spurs is like watching the movie Titanic. You know how it’s going to end but we still watch them….the owners of the Titanic might even try to change the captain, but we all know how it will end…mmmm! That’s a great name for our beautiful stadium. THE TITANIC

Agree with your comment, but why then does Nuno make that comment about all the players in the beginning of his interview? Unless as some other people on this site believe as well as the comments in the above video are therefore true in that Nuno is reading from the same script that was given to his predeccesors. 🙂

Those Wolves players were in the Championship. They were hungry, driven.

Our prima Donnas don’t really care.

Nuno seems like a nice gent, but you’re not going to win LeMans in a 1965 Renault Dauphine, even if it’s parked in a billion pound garage.

Around the 30 second mark in the above video Nuno makes the comment “Boys have been good – The ATTITUDE and the COMMITMENT”…I wish Nuno well, and he did get the players at Wolves going, because those players Attitude and Commitment were good.

My concern is the players (and we all know the one’s that I am talking about) attitude and commitment last year during matches was bad and non existent in the games they played in.

So what has now changed, which now makes these same players attitudes and committment better. Will these same players attitude and committment change again when Nuno starts dropping them when they start playing badly? If I can recall our previous Manager made similar comments about the players when he joined.

If we don’t get rid of the Deadwood then I believe we are going to end up with the same problems, and I’ll be very happy to be proved wrong…Only time will tell.

Levy won’t give any Spurs manager the tools they need. That’s why he’s a tool.

nobody wants him to fail. Sad truth is he will because all those who came before him under Levy have done exactly that.

it’s a case of not if, just when.

I think we are all agreed that Nuno is a sensible and decent guy, and clearly a more than competent coach. Most of us thought this even before he put his Spurs tracksuit on.

His demeanour though is not one of a man brimming with optimism about his situation. He comes across as someone who intends to get his head down and do a professional job. Do it to the best of his ability.

Nuno, Paratici Thea people are pawns in the game, stooges in ENIC’s patronising of the fan base. That’s not directly anything to do with them, the c*nts upstairs are the problem, in the boardroom or somewhere in Barbados.

Good luck Nuno, you’re gonna need it…

Nuno wasn’t even on the shopping list when Mourinho left. He’s sold his soul to the devil. I’ll have zero sympathy for him and his back room staff when it all goes wrong and he’s collecting his P45 before Xmas.

Do you think Levy will back Nuno of Wolves when he didn’t back a winner like Mourinho and the man like Poch who put him in the final of the Champions league?

I cant understand why we haven’t won the league yet with all this quality. Winks, Dier, Ali they are all amazing. Too good in fact to go to the WC with England.

He speaks well. He seems a lovely fella. He needs better players adding to the squad and a lot of the deadwood extricating. I hope we give him the tools he needs. With the tool we have running the club that’s unlikely.

Two things: 1) it is patently ridiculous to expect him to say anything different; name me any new manager in his first presser who didn’t say something similar, and 2) notwithstanding any misgivings I may have about ENIC, I hope he is successful. Can’t help feeling there are some among the fanbase who are rooting for him to fail.

I think Nuno is a fundamentally decent guy and to be fair a decent manager. I liked him when he was at Wolves and thought he always interviewed well after matches. He comes across as level headed, honest and a sincere character. I genuinely wish him well.

Unfortunately however, as anyone with any intelligence knows, he is basically a ‘patsy’ for ENIC, an inexpensive ‘fall guy’, who if he fails to perform miracles with an underfunded squad and return us to the Champions League will be readily expendable.

So the reality is he is being set-up to fail, as is Paratici, by ENIC, who are transparently looking to deflect blame from the mismanagement and under-investment in the team for which they are culpable. An abject charade with Levy as the puppeteer pretending his hand isn’t in the glove!

He (genuinely, I’m sure) has goals and beliefs and expectations of how he sees things progressing. I wish him well and hope he meets those goals. To not do so would be decidedly unfanly. (Did I make up a word there? Better call OED)

Side note: When I close my eyes I could swear I’m listening to Stephen Hawking. Let’s hope he’s got the brains of the late-physicist. He’s gonna need them.

Really can’t understand Spurs fans. What on earth were they expecting. It takes a certain sort of deficiency to continually have expectations of something different and to be upset is frankly , well , upsetting.
