By Mehdi Gokal -

According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, A deal for centre-back Davinson Sanchez is close to being agreed with Galatasaray to sell the defender.

As per Galetti, the final details of a transfer fee are being discussed, and a full agreement is expected soon.

He posted on X:

“Davinson Sanchez from Tottenham to Galatasaray is almost a DONE DEAL. Just last details of the transfer fee are under discussion: the full agreement is expected soon.”

Spurs had an active transfer window, signing players such as James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Alejo Veliz, and Brennan Johnson.

These signings are part of the club’s efforts to build a more competitive squad under manager Ange Postecoglou.

They also got rid of several players who were excess to requirements for the manager. Joe Rodon and Djed Spence joined Leeds on loan while Tanganga and Sergio Reguilon completed deadline day loan moves to Augsburg and Manchester United respectively.

Tottenham also managed to agree a late deal for midfielder Harvey White which was finalised after the window closed. He joins Stevenage on a permanent deal.

And now Galetti is reporting that Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal with Galatasaray for Davinson Sanchez as well.

Spurs have been trying to get rid of the centre-back all summer but have failed to reach an agreement for him.

Galatasaray were one of the clubs in talks with Spurs but the two clubs could not find an agreement then.

It is now reported that the move is almost a done deal. The deal is close to completion and the last bit of details regarding the transfer fee are under discussion. Galetti claims that the full agreement will be reached soon.

TBH Says:

Sanchez’s departure means we have Eric Dier as our only back up centre-back option along with Ben Davies who could be slotted in there if required.

This may not be an ideal situation in the face of injuries but we could be back in for a defender in the January transfer window.
