I never expected Erik Lamela to score. The Argentine saves face by running around a lot, but he never truly comes through when we need him to.
Strangely, I did think Troy Parrott would score, but Tim Krul won their battle of wits – a lesson in the pressures of big boy football for the kid.
And Gedson Fernandes looked like he’d seen a ghost when he stepped up to the Norwich goalkeeper; scared sh**less and his spot kick showed it.
Michel Vorm’s save from Kenny McClean is brilliant, and there was nothing he could do with the other Norwich efforts, which were right in the corners.
Although things wouldn’t have got to this point if not for his howler.
Thoroughly depressing viewing. Right, I’m off to watch it again…
