All Mouth No Trousers

Awesome Dawson was on talkSPORT this morning.

I missed the actual interview or whatever it was, but did manage to catch the closing moments where Alan Brazil thanked him for joining in,  and attempted to coerce the centreback into coming on the lash with him. It’s the first time I’ve heard Daws sound nervous.

I don’t blame him. 15 years ago I walked past Alan Brazil who was exiting Smiths Cafe Bar in Colchester, after a few swift cases of vino.

He was an extraordinary sight. His head was a red balloon with some white pubes stuck either side, where one might have expected the ears to be.

His eyes made those of the villain out of The Eiger Sanction look kind and warm, but perhaps this was worsened by his flailing attempts to tuck his shirt into his undone trousers. His shirt; a white tarpaulin straining to cover a doped elephant.

Daws said:

I’ve been at Tottenham for nine and half years

It’s a great football club and I’ve loved every minute of it while I’ve been here.

The fans have been superb to me since day one, because I’ve had some ups and downs like everyone does.

The expectations are high and the players want to achieve them. We want to be in the top four and hopefully next year we’ll have another push.”

Meanwhile, in Gotham… Louis van Gaal has acknowledged that the ITK about him wasn’t actually that shabby. It is hardly a leap of faith to surmise that had David Moyes not been a complete and utter burn out, that he would have come to Spurs.

The enormous whoring Dutch plinth told the world’s assembled press:

I came very close. Very close. As a little boy I was a fan of Tottenham Hotspur with the team of Jimmy Greaves when he was the champion.

Jimmy Greaves was my idol. So I was very close. I was a fan of Spurs during my childhood.

Those fantastic white shirts and Jimmy Greaves.”
