Tottenham’s on-loan forward Alejo Veliz has been making a significant impact, recently scoring his first career hat-trick in a stellar display for Espanyol.
The 21-year-old Argentine, currently on loan for the season with the Spanish side, has been benefiting from regular game time and gaining confidence with every performance.
This growth was especially evident in Espanyol’s recent Copa del Rey match against San Tirso, where Veliz’s hat-trick showcased his increasing poise and reliability as a goalscorer.

Spurs fans might remember Veliz’s arrival last year when he joined the club on a six-year contract worth £13 million.
He debuted for Tottenham in a memorable 2-1 victory over Liverpool, but competition in the forward line limited his opportunities to feature regularly in North London.
To aid his development, Spurs arranged a loan move to Sevilla for six months, though limited playing time meant he couldn’t make the desired impact there.
The player recently revealed the main reason for him joining the La Liga club, claiming that he joined because of their manager Manolo Gonzalez.
His move to Espanyol has proven far more fruitful. He has featured in each game for the Spanish club so far making 12 appearances across all competitions while scoring 4 goals.
He has emerged as a dependable offensive option and marked his first goal for Espanyol with a last-gasp equaliser against Rayo Vallecano in August. His performances saw him being nominated for the La Liga U23 Player of the Month award.
With his Tottenham contract running until June 2029, Veliz’s progress is being watched closely by the club.
Spurs are optimistic that he’ll return from his loan with the experience, scoring instinct, and confidence needed to make a significant impact in North London.
