Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has sent a message to supporters as he backed the decision to suspend the Premier League.
The announcement came on Friday morning that all fixtures were to be postponed, with a further review expected in April.
It comes amid an increase in reported cases of coronavirus across the UK, while high-profile figures such as Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mikel Arteta have tested positive too.
Alderweireld posted a tweet on Friday afternoon as he backed the decision from the Premier League, as seen below, while he also offered advice to his fans on what to do next.
It remains to be seen what decision is reached by the FA and league officials in early April, but the focus, for now, will be on trying to take measures to avoid seeing the situation worsen and Alderweireld is evidently in support of the latest decision to be reached.
Meanwhile, Spurs released a club statement on the matter, as they reiterated their priority to maintain the health and safety of all connected to the club during the coronavirus outbreak.
