Alasdair Gold shares concerning news ahead of Villa clash as key player was not seen in training

Tottenham Hotspur’s battle with injuries this season has taken another hit as right-back Pedro Porro finds himself sidelined with a muscle injury, adding to the club’s growing list of absentees.

Porro, who had been enjoying an injury-free spell until recently, has missed Spurs’ last two league matches against Wolves and Crystal Palace due to the setback.

The Spanish international’s absence was confirmed by head coach Ange Postecoglou during the pre-match press conference ahead of the Wolves fixture.

Postecoglou revealed that Porro had sustained a muscle strain during training, initially ruling him out for a couple of weeks.

Despite initial hopes for a swift return, Porro’s recovery has taken longer than anticipated, with Postecoglou indicating before the Crystal Palace clash that the defender is likely to be sidelined for another week.

However, as Tottenham prepare for the crucial Premier League encounter against Aston Villa this weekend, there is still no sign of Porro in training.

Porro’s absence from training was reported by the club’s correspondent for Football London, Alasdair Gold.

He pointed out that the club’s latest training clip did not feature the right-back.

Gold mentioned that it could be possible that he was doing training inside the facility and that more will be know during tomorrow’s pre-game press conference.

The 24-year-old’s absence is keenly felt by Tottenham, given his significant contributions from the backline this season.

Porro has been a key creative outlet, registering eight assists in 23 Premier League appearances, highlighting his importance to Spurs’ attacking prowess.

His absence against Aston Villa would be a huge blow for Spurs.
