Alasdair Gold confirms Tottenham are considering 31-year-old to replace Conte when he leaves

By Mehdi Gokal -

Alasdair Gold in his latest YouTube video has discussed Ryan Mason and his future managerial prospects at Tottenham.

The former Spurs midfielder became the caretaker manager after Jose Mourinho was fired and was more than capable in the dugout despite being just 29-year-old at the at time.

Antonio Conte has reportedly been left impressed by Ryan Mason’s training sessions and according to Alasdair Gold, the club hopes to see him manage the club in the near future.

Speaking about whether Spurs are looking at Mason as a managerial candidate, Gold said:

“I think they hope so, I do think they hope so. Let’s not forget he was Spurs manager at 29, the caretaker boss and I know people grumbled at the time, he did pretty well in the circumstances, the players respected him and his training sessions were supposed to be superb. Conte witnessed one of his training sessions when he first arrived and that sold him on Mason.

I imagine Ryan Mason will want to be a manager sooner rather than later, I just wonder if he has to leave Spurs first to come back.”

Mason clearly has Daniel Levy’s approval, and the fact that he has impressed Conte speaks volumes about his ability as a coach. However, despite the report suggesting that he could be considered as Conte’s replacement when the Italian leaves, he does need more experience before he is ready for the Spurs job.

Gold has wrote and spoke so much sh**t during this summer. Fine reporter? OMG. As far as I know Conte is still Spurs manager. During next 4 months is stupid to write or speak these “must write or say (podcast) something” -stories.

This is the clearest indication that Conte is not along term proposition at Spurs, this latest hogwash coming from the club’s ‘man on the inside’.

All about managing expectations, and this does two things;

Firstly it builds the narrative that we are inevitably now looking beyond Conte, and secondly by putting Mason’s name in the ‘hat’, the fans will be relived that it isn’t Mason when the new manager is finally appointed.

It is the ‘confirmation’ of nothing, just yet more club orchestrated PR nonsense for the thickos to suck up…

Can you imagine the star names he will attract??? Exciting! Top stars from Europe like Dele and Winks will be coming to the toilet bowl.

With reference to Ryan Mason, “the club hopes to see him manage the club in the near future.” If that’s true, it doesn’t bode well then for Conte staying very much longer!!!

Highest season ticket prices in the UK and one of the highest in Europe. Club shows fans their ambition to win trophies.
Levy emails santa begging for a trophy.

This would be welcome news to the likes of Winks if his pal Mateson succeeds Tony.

Mason may have the best training sessions in the world for all we know, but that doesn’t translate to being a good manager.

It tells you nothing about his tactics or whether he has the mental toughness to succeed.
