Christian Eriksen could yet leave Tottenham Hotspur Football Club!
Just a few days ago, Atletico Madrid’s managing director Miguel Ángel Gil met with Christian Eriksen’s representatives in order to negotiate their boy a move out of London – according to Danish site BT.
On Friday, if you really want the gruesome detail.
What’s interesting about this reporting is that Danish outlet BT say that Daniel Levy was even prepared to shave the asking price for their boy down to, ‘…somewhere between 60 and 70 million Euros. It is between 450 and 520 million Kroner.’
For what it is worth, I believe Eriksen will see this as a scuttle out of Spurs, not a matching of his hopes and dreams, as Real Madrid obviously did.
This would be like Danny Rose being ecstatic about joining Everton.
In other news, Spurs looked pretty damned decent against Juve today.
Fans were left rubbing their eyes in disbelief as our International Champions Cup game at Singapore’s National Stadium ended not in penalties but Kane’s moment of inspiration in the 93rd minute.

Poch wants a 25 man squad.
GK: Hugo, Gazza
FB: Rose, Davies, Aurier, KWP
CB: Jan, Toby, Sanchez, Dier, Foyth
MF: Sissy, Tanguy, Winks, Dele, Eriksen, Wanyama, Lamela
FW/ST: Son, Kane, Lucas
That’s 21 players. Presumably a Vorm replacement will come in, but will be a 3rd choice so not a big deal. So still 3 players short, assuming Toby, Rose, and Eriksen stay. I’d say one of those 3 open spots needs to be a RB, one needs to be a targetman backup striker. Maybe Skipp stays in the first team.
Atletico have money to spend after cashing in on Greizman. For Eriksen, decision probably rests on the salary on offer. Stick with Spurs another year, leave on a free and probably make up the salary difference from this year in signing bonus; or go to sunny Spain into a good but not great team where you’re on display week in, week out for the club across town that you really want to join and if it works out you don’t even have to move house. Plus, better food, better weather, less likely to have some fat hack like Charlie Adam or Phil Bardsley trying to break your leg.
He wants 25 but without 8 homegrown players he can only have 23 (we have 6 HG players on your list – we need 8 or there is a squad reduction by the number missing , i.e 2).
The PL squad may be a bit different as I think Foyth is young enough to not need registration but the above is certainly true for CL. If Rose goes, then its obviously only 22 man squad unless we replace with another HG player
So far ENIC have spent roughly 17m on transfers after sales so I’ll be surprised if Levy isn’t trying to offload Erik to pay for Lo Celso…Other teams are spending big so I’m yet to be convinced Levy has changed his ways. The guys did well today but we still need a few more signings to help build the squad and add depth…
Personally I hope eriksen signs a new deal and stays. He has been the main orchestrator for years and will leave a huge void. If it gets his passion back at the same time it’s a win for us
If CE does get his passion back, then we’ll win things, If he doesn’t we won’t despite all the potential coming through. We are 2 signings short of a EPL winning team
CE is a man who’s lost his way at WHL. I said at January that I’d take 50m for him and stand by it. For a set piece taker to hit the first man on every corner and the wall on every piece, his subpar passing this last year and sluggy hustle makes him expendable. Bye Christian
