Tottenham Hotspur signed Dejan Kulusevski on loan from Juventus in January 2022 and the Swedish international has been a smash hit at the London club.
The 22-year-old managed to hit the ground running and he has already endeared himself to the Spurs faithful.
Kulusevski has made the right wing spot his own and he has been a key starter for Antonio Conte.
Spurs agreed on a deal with Juventus to loan the player for 18 months and then sign him permanently if he plays 20 games this season and Spurs finish in the top four.
However, the player has impressed the club hierarchy so much that they are now willing to buy him even if those conditions are not met.
Spurs will have to pay a fee of around £30 million for the Swedish international this summer.
Reacting to the potential deal, popular pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has now revealed that it is one of the best pieces of business and Daniel Levy has pulled off a masterclass.
“For Kulusevski to sign for £30million on a permanent deal is one of the best pieces of business in the last few years,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.
“He’s a young, quality player and I feel Juventus have undervalued him.
“That’s a great deal for Spurs, they need to get that over the line and get him signed permanently because he is the difference in that Spurs side.
“When he’s not playing Harry Kane has less service and when he plays he gets into positions and makes things happen. He’s got a wand of a left foot.
“I’m sure Spurs will try and get that move done as soon as possible.”
There is no doubt that Kulusevski is a quality player and he is far from reaching his peak. He is only going to get better with experience and coaching.
He could prove to be a major bargain for Spurs in the long run.
The player has six goals and 13 assists in 32 matches for the London club so far. It will be interesting to see if he can help Spurs finish in the top four and end their wait for a trophy this season.
