Tottenham Hotspur secured their place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League with a late win over Marseille last night.
The Premier League side secured a 2-1 victory over the French outfit away from home and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored a late winner to save the blushes for Antonio Conte’s side.
Overall it was a mediocre performance from the London club and pundit Jamie O’Hara has now criticised the lights of Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon for their performances in a crucial game.
O’Hara revealed that Antonio Conte’s system requires the wing backs to be on top of their game and both Perisic and Sessegnon were disappointing on the night.
Taking to Twitter, the pundit explained that the two players were miles off the pace and it could have easily cost Spurs their place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
When the draw for the group stages was made, Spurs were expected to navigate the group stage comfortably and make it to the round of 16. However, it has been a difficult task for them so far. They have struggled against the likes of Sporting and Marseille in recent months.
Conte’s men will have to improve immensely in order to reach the quarter-finals now.
They face an anxious wait to find out who they will face in the round of 16 and Conte will certainly be hoping for a favourable draw.
Spurs have played reasonably well in the Premier League so far and it will be interesting to see if they can end their trophy drought this year.

While Sess was poor, think it is a bit harsh to criticise him given that he shouldn’t have been playing RB/RWB in the first place. We had 3 natural RB’s/RWB’s on the bench and I think even Perisic is naturally right footed. Professionals should be able to use both feet but even before last night it was clear to see Sess can’t. Another questionable choice from Conte.
