Di Matteo won the Champions League with Chavski, even Avram Grant won trophies there.

He did better than the others at Chelsea because he was great in that environment, at that time.

You talk about his so called managerial ‘challenges’ but has he ever managed mid-table wastrels? A side tipped for relegation? Those are real challenges in management and I’ve yet to see him (or Pep for that matter) in that situation and there’s reason for that. they only take jobs where the odds are stacked in their favour. Good luck to them, but just saying…

I wish him well. I sincerely do. He took the spursy job with integrity and honesty. Just ashame he ran into the lightweights.

Let’s just blame the modern player instead. Jose’s great it’s just there are hardly any players that respond to his methods anymore… Therefore said methods are defunct.

If you can’t even understand that I was joking about managing the team myself then you aren’t worth debating with. You lack the basics…

This isn’t about ‘liking’ someone, I don’t know him as a person and I’m sure he’s a very decent bloke and who can dispute his honours, you can’t.

This is about wanting the best for the club you support, I never though he was the right man for the job, on several levels;

The way his previous 4 jobs disintegrated into recrimination and friction in the dressing room. His spikiness and morose persona in recent times. The way his teams play, and the fact that I personally feel it’s out of date and that the game has changed. Lastly, his compatibility with the Levy/ENIC junta.

I know this might be difficult to accept, but are you suggesting that any of us citing the above as issues have been proven wrong? Au contraire…

One decent signing out of nine, PEH. When Poch made a bad signing it was his call, yet Jose had no say in anything?

It’s the cult of Jose, they can now tune into TalkSport and avidly read the Sun and pretend that the low-block was actually both good to watch and effective, whilst pretending he’s still at the top of his game, “if only it weren’t for those pesky kids!” Hmmm…

East Stand
East Stand

Wheras Poch has only been sacked once so far (and by Levy of all people) and now manages PSG. While Jose now has a column in the Sun, three sacking in a row, a year at Sky then sacked again after 18 months. Do you not accept that there is a pattern emerging with Jose’s later career trajectory?

Pochettino has nothing to do with Jose’s career, other than being one of many coaches that presently superseed him…

I get not liking Jose, but come on – saying Spurs were his first real test is just absurd. What about beating Pep’s Barcelona to the title or taking Inter to the CL win, or taking Porto to the CL win?

Man Utd are expected to win – remind me how many trophies have they won since Ferguson retired? How did Chelsea do under AVB, Sarri, Lampard, Hiddink, di Matteo and many others apart from Conte and Ancelotti? What about Inter under Jose and then under Benitez?

Spurs were not his first challenge. Spurs were his first broken, disinterested, and demotivated squad, which listened to him for six months or so and then threw him under the bus like Poch.

If you back Jose, he wins – that is a fact proven in various clubs and various leagues. If you are unwilling to back him in more than one summer transfer window before firing him, why even bring him in?

You are forgetting Ferguson whose trophy haul rather dwarfs Jose’s.
Zidane and Ancelotti more Ecls.
Comfy clubs? Porto, Chelsea Inter, Real Man Utd are all clubs expected to win. Spurs was his first real test of coaching and he came up short.
Before he was sacked we were 18th on current form and hadn’t beaten a top half team in 10 attempts.
At the end the players didn’t want to play for him in the same way the Chelsea and Man Utd ones didn’t either.

Botch as you call will be remembered by the fan base with affection. Jose I’m afraid will not. Jose’s rebuild nine signings only one of whom might be described as decent has impaired not improved the squad

Only Pep has won more and at clubs guaranteed to win. Only Pep doesn’t get sacked. Apart from Pep at his comfy clubs, all managers get sacked, Klopp, Zidane, Tuchel etc, this is standard in footballt the top level.. Unless you’re poached before, you are sacked, and the higher up the food chain you go this is less likely to happen. Brendan Rodgers is staying for example… Maureen is one of the biggest powerhouses in the game… I just read you saying sacking him and replacing him with Mason didn’t affect our chances in the final. You also think yourself could do a better job! What club have you managed? Have you done any of your coaching badges? You live in cuckoo land man.

Botch spending money doesn’t guarantee success.. The year and a half no signings were scandelous, but the wages and new contracts were given to the likes of Kane in that time.. And when Botch did start to spend on his targets, tanguy and gio were no way good enough and we were 14th.. Botch began his rebuild and we immediately fell apart.. Hitchen should have been sacked with Botchy too.

Mangers used to go mad unless they had control of signings, tactics and team selections. Director of Football positions show football has gone back to those days. Successful players make great teams and money, Successful money-players do not make great teams.

I was at Wembley for Villa, still Ricky Villa, ticket £13 from a tout in Gants Hill, the mayhem at WHL UEFA Cup ’84, choked when Liniker took the pen and missed, only for Stewart to step up. Still get a thrill when I wear my Peters, England, Jennings, etc., full sleeve cotton number from toffs, no flash, just the cockeral. My mum stiched the badge on to an umbro shirt when a primary kid and I loved it, still do. I just cannot believe what those capitalist f(*%&$g merde’s, I do not mind people being successful, have done to our once great and famous club. Sickening. To aim high…

You don’t like Mourinho I get it fair enough. But you can’t tell me is Mourinho’s fault that we sacked around 14 mangers in the last say 15 years that is almost 1 manager every year.
It is not Mourinho’s fault that the club never backs their managers and they don’t have anything to do buying or selling players that is the record Poch said it Jose said it. Finally if you talk about the players we have right now they caused the downfalls of two managers therefore you can’t blame the managers if you don’t give them the right tools to work, Mourinho won 22 Trophies fact nobody can change that cheers.

Indeed. The apologists talk about the mess from Sugar/Scholar etc but they made those moves, as dodgy as they were for ON THE PITCH success…. They wanted Ossie to stay, Hoddle to stay and to bring the likes of Gazza….the best…into the club. We won stuff, even before then….the famous Tottenham Hotspur FC. Not now, we’ve been turned into a parody piece……with a entertainment arena that would make Pier Luigi Nervi baulk.

Shoulda backed Poch to rebuild, i think it’s it’s safe to say that would have been the most sensible football decision. But then what does Levy know about football?

Nice stadium, shame the seats are facing the pitch. Les Dawson. Was actually funny at the time. Ten Hag, yes very interested at working in the Prem. It’s Spurs. Oh, sorry, just signed a contract exention. We used to be for the best, now WHL is a graveyard. Blancheflower, Greaves, Jennings. Bill Nick, Hoddle, so many more, up to Klinnsman. Now it’s all about Levy. Even Kane, right up there with the Spurs true legends and wants to win things with Tottenham, has given up. No, it’s not funny any more and only the self-deluded do not realise. Burkinshaw’s quote ‘There used to be a football club down there.’, did not seem to mean Spurs are now a f*^&”$g joke. And it hurts. Levy and ENIC have made a fortune in profit and paper development. Ain’t going nowhere until the share price collapses. While the TV money and the support are there, it will not. Enjoy mid-table. Losing Kane, and I do not blame him one bit, is a disaster.

Hasn’t Ten Hag just signed an extension with Ajax?

Anyone who comes in, (unless he has been sleeping under a rock,) must realize that being Head Coach of THFC is a temporary, if not, short-term arrangement. Levy seems intent on proving he can sack more managers than Abramovich.

Working down the list:
Nagelsmann
Rodgers
Ten Hag
Marsch
Sarri

are all unavailable.

Seems we are down to the likes of
Southgate
Howe
Potter
Nuno

When all of them have said “no,” it may well be that the only man left for the job will be Ted Lasso.

The managerial job at ENIC FC has become a poisoned chalice. Sacking Maureen a week before a final was a masterstroke.

You can see it is Jose Mourinho’s effect already Nagelsmann Rodgers and Ten Hag all declining the post every self respecting manager will be very careful to take that post unless you are the likes of Sarri who just needs the £.
