This was as close as José got to being upbeat in the wake of a tedious draw. We’ve always made hard work of the ropey haven’t we? Largely due to having barebones squad in the past. It used to be a bit of a standing joke that our exertions in the ropey would often be followed by a poor result in the league directly after. I just sense a bit of frustration in Mourinho because of not getting the results he wanted from the EL so far, probably because he could have rested players in the final game. As it is he will want to win that final game to get a lesser opponent in the next round, just hope he keeps the players on board with him, as he will need them through the season.
