Valencia are still interested in signing Tottenham winger Bryan Gil, according to La Razon (via HITC), and the winger himself wants to return to Spain.
Spurs loaned the £83,000-a-week player to Valencia last season, where he quickly became a fan favourite and the club were keen to re-sign him this summer but Spurs blocked his move last minute.
And while the club didn’t allow him to leave, they haven’t given much playing time this season either. Conte gave the youngster his first start of the season in last night’s 0-0 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to the report, Gil is unhappy at the club and crazy about a return to Valencia. Given the circumstances, La Razon believes Tottenham and Valencia will reach an agreement, though the Spanish news outlet does not specify whether the agreement will be a loan or a permanent move. The report does state the Spanish side ‘wants to sign him in January’.
Gil has only played 12 minutes of football this season, and Conte was seen yelling at him after he was outmuscled by Eintracht Frankfurt last night which must not be too helpful for the youngster’s confidence.
The way the situation around Gil has developed, it would not be a surprise for the player and the club to go separate ways. Gil’s growth and development at Spurs has come to a halt and it would be unjust for Spurs to keep him at the club against his will.
I maintain if Gil takes on a similar fitness regime To Sess, he has the talent to go on and be an exceptional player for us. The problem is, he hates being here so much that I doubt he ever would. It’s just so embarrassing watching him fall over though every time there is a gust of wind!

Punt, punt, punt, only one minor trophy back in 2008, punt, punt, punt 23 years and counting… punt, punt, punt different managers, different DOF, punt, punt, punt. Redevelop North Tottenham.
It’s so f*cking boring…
Ain’t it. I am hoping – no praying, that it is a typo or just a figure plucked from the ether.
Look, every team makes mistakes – bad signings and whatnot. But the good teams move on quickly, cut their losses and move forward. Same as in any business. Levy just does not understand this and thus is unfit for purpose as you guys say.
Harold, good summary. But please, what are you wearing?
Another Jam tomorrow punt that could end up costing to move him on…what was it, like 25m or so…12mins..
How did we negotiate a contract of 83K/week for a schoolboy? If it was Jude Bellingham I could understand it.Money is killing our game.Madness.
