Report: Tottenham Hotspur transfer target switches agents

This summer, Tottenham Hotspur appears prime to hit the striker market, and one player that the north London club was recently scouting is Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguay international is changing representation because the upcoming transfer window could see him leave Lisbon. According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, Nunez is set to sign with a new agent close to Jorge Mendes.

Nunez has several top clubs pursuing him, so it is no surprise that he wants representation from those close to one of the more recognizable agents in world football.

Also, Romano added that Benfica turned down a proposal of around €45m (£37.4m) from West Ham for the striker in January, so there’s no doubt the Portuguese side believes they can secure more with the potential bidding war.

The 22-year-old has appeared in 79 fixtures thus far for Benfica since joining the club in 2020; he’s scored 42 goals and recorded 15 assists since arriving from UD Almería.
