Tottenham’s current record signing isn’t having much luck. This evening will be the 5th occasion the Frenchman has failed to get a first team start under Jose Mourinho.
That said, this is a decent starting XI by any standards. Mourinho has put together an attacking formation, leaving both defensive and offensive minded players on the bench. Jeez, a bench with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen on, is no pushover.
I was pushing for Lucas Moura to be shown some respect and so the inclusion of the Brazilian greatly appeals. Sissoko and Lo Celso will be interesting, and I anticipate the boy Tanguy being unleashed at some point.
Unless we’re winning by several clear goals, it will be a curious business if we don’t see Ndombele make some class of appearance. Either way, this entire ‘relationship’ will run and run until the pair are seen falling out of a pub, arms around each other.
no papering over the cracks
no ‘we’re a champions league side’
let’s be honest – there are gaps in this squad
investment
Painful to watch so slow
