£55m forgotten man could now stay at Spurs, Postecoglou ‘delighted’ with him

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.

The £55 million signing has been linked with clubs like Napoli in recent weeks but it seems that he could end up staying at the north London club eventually.

According to Mucho Deporte, the midfielder is unlikely to force a move away from Tottenham this summer.

Apparently, the newly appointed Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is ‘delighted’ with the midfielder’s performances in pre-season and the player feels comfortable in the Australian’s system as well.

It will be interesting to see if he gets ample game time at Tottenham next season.

The north London giants have already signed James Maddison to improve their attacking options and it will be interesting to see how Postecoglou accommodates both players in his starting lineup.

Lo Celso is versatile enough to operate as a central attacking midfielder as well as a winger.

He has proven his quality with Villarreal and Real Betis in the past and there is no doubt that he is good enough for the Premier League as well.

He has struggled under previous Spurs managers but Postecoglou’s free-flowing attacking system could get the best out of him in the coming seasons.

The 27-year-old is at the peak of his powers and he could be a key player for Tottenham.

Keeping him at the club would mean Tottenham would not have to invest in adding creativity and goals to the side anymore.

They will be able to concentrate on improving their defence and central midfield options. Spurs were quite vulnerable defensively last season and that should be their top priority in the transfer market.

As for the Argentine international, he will look to get his career back on track and if Postecoglou is prepared to give him the opportunities, it could be the perfect scenario for all parties.
