£50m Welsh striker prefers Tottenham move over Chelsea

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to MailOnline’s Transfer Confidential newsletter, Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson prefers a move to Tottenham Hotspur over Chelsea this summer.

It is said that the player will prefer to move to the North London club as he is more likely to get more playing time there compared to Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham this summer.

Johnson is one of Nottingham Forest’s most important player and losing him would be huge loss for them but at a reported valuation of £50m, Forest will probably consider a sale as a logical choice.

Nottingham Forest’s financial concerns, related to Financial Fair Play regulations, might prompt them to consider selling Johnson at a reduced price.

The pressure to raise funds before the end of the transfer window could influence their decision-making process

Johnson is a versatile attacker and can play anywhere in the front three. He had 13 goal contributions (10 goals and 3 assists) in 44 appearances for Nottingham Forest across all competitions last season.

Described as the fastest forward in the Premier League with a remarkable speed of 36.70 km/h, Johnson’s attributes make him an enticing prospect for Tottenham.

Tottenham are actively looking to sign another striker before the window ends after the recent sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

However, it has been reported that the club will focus on the outgoings first having already made a number of signings this window.

They are also strongly linked with a move for Gent’s Gift Orban. Multiple reports have stated in the last week that Tottenham will make a move for the ‘gifted’ striker before the end of the transfer window.

Who Tottenham will end up signing upfront remains to be seen.
