£290k-a-week Chelsea superstar ‘offered’ to Tottenham; he wants to stay in London

By Mehdi Gokal -

Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kanté has been linked with a stunning move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Arriving from Leicester City in 2016, the midfielder has been an integral part of everything the Blues have achieved over the years, but it appears that all of that is coming to an end. According to the report by French outlet Foot Mercato (via Sport Witness), the player has already been ‘offered’ to Spurs and Arsenal.

The report states that following a string of physical setbacks in recent seasons, Chelsea’s new owners are using Kante’s ‘physical fragility’ to ‘justify the possible end of the story’.

The report also claims that the Frenchman and Chelsea are ‘heading towards a separation at the end of the season’ however, the player wishes to ‘stay in London’, where he ‘feels good’, which limits his options.

Tottenham and Arsenal are named in the report as the two clubs in London that are a point of interest and ‘with the most ambition’. The two clubs are also mentioned by journalist Santi Aouna who goes on to claim that the player has been ‘offered’ to both of them.

If the report by the French outlet is to be believed, a move to Spurs would make sense for the player who will reunite with the manager who signed him at Chelsea.

Three four years ago maybe Kante could have worked. Just like Pericic we needed him three years ago not when he was 33, good as he has been.

We buy players that are too young and now we’re buying them way past their peak eg Bale.

We already have 6 defensive midfielders in the squad: Skipp, Bentacur, Holberg, White, Bissouma,, Sarr. And two of them have never played under Conte.

Just what we need, another DMF.No doubting his quality of course, but in the last couple of seasons he has become injure prone.I don’t think he would be available for enough games to make it worthwhile I’m afraid.Maybe take Mount instead.
