Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz during the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old Spanish international has been a useful squad player for the French club this season and the opportunity to move to Tottenham could be an exciting option for him.
The Spaniard can operate as a defensive midfielder as well as a central midfielder.
As per Fichajes, Tottenham are looking to add more depth to their midfield and the 27-year-old has ‘caught the attention’ of Ange Postecoglou due to his versatility and experience.
The midfielder has a contract with the French club until the summer of 2027 but he could be keen on an exit because of the lack of minutes under Luis Enrique. Tottenham have started the season really well and they are looking to bring in quality players during the winter transfer window so that they can stay on top of the Premier League table.
Ruiz will certainly improve them in the middle of the park and he could be the ideal replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as well. The Denmark international is expected to leave Tottenham in the coming months after falling down the pecking order since the arrival of Postecoglou. The 28-year-old needs regular game time and he has been linked with clubs like Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
Ruiz will add technical ability and depth in the middle of the park for Tottenham and his arrival would allow the North London club to rotate the likes of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr.
