Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The 26-year-old has worked with Antonio Conte in the past and the opportunity to reunite with the Italian manager could be an attractive option for the player.
According to a report from CalcioMercatoWeb, Tottenham want to bring in midfield reinforcements at the end of the season, and they have identified the Italian as a potential target.
Barella is certainly one of the most promising midfielders around Europe and he could add a new dimension to the Tottenham side. The 26-year-old will add creativity, control and technical ability in the middle of the park. Furthermore, the 26-year-old is entering his peak years and he could play his best football for Tottenham if he manages to settle in quickly.
He has played under Conte before and he should be able to fit into his system with ease.
The Premier League is certainly a step up from Italy and the player could be excited to make the move at the end of the season.
However the 26-year-old is unlikely to come cheap and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay a substantial amount of money to sign him.
They need to add more depth to their squad during the summer transfer window in order to compete for major trophies next season and Barella could transform them in the midfield.
