26-year-old Tottenham target responds to transfer links

South Korea international Kim Min-Jae has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months.

The 26-year-old has impressed thoroughly since his move to Napoli and the likes of Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on securing his services.

The centre-back has now opened up on the transfer rumours surrounding his future, and he has revealed that he does not pay too much attention to the links, because they bother him.

He also maintained that he is fully focused on the Italian club, having joined them just a few months ago.

“There are a lot of market stories around me,” Kim says, via Calciomercato. “But it’s only been six months at Napoli. I avoid interviews and one of the reasons is that the rumours about (my future) bother me.”

Napoli signed the 26-year-old as the replacement for former defender Kalidou Koulibaly who moved to Chelsea during the summer transfer window. Min-Jae has made an immediate impact at the Italian club and he has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Italian league.

It is hardly a surprise that top Premier League clubs like Tottenham are looking to sign him in the upcoming windows.

However, the player does not seem interested in a move anytime soon and it will be interesting to see if Spurs can convince him to join them at the end of the season.

Furthermore, he has a long-term contract with Napoli and the Italian giants have a reputation for being difficult to negotiate with. They could demand a premium for his services.

Antonio Conte is looking for a reliable defensive partner for Cristian Romero and the South Korean international certainly fits the profile.
