Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has been linked with a move to Tottenham at the end of the season.
Leicester City have been relegated to the Championship and the 26-year-old midfielder is expected to join a bigger club during the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United are also keen on signing the midfielder this summer and the player is reportedly open to joining the Magpies. According to reports, the player has spoken to the Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier about the club during the recent international break.
It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the midfielder to snub a move to Newcastle and join them instead.
The Magpies have secured Champions League football and they are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world right now. It is no surprise that they are an attractive destination for players. On the other hand, Tottenham are going through a period of uncertainty and they could lose key players like Harry Kane in the summer. They are yet to appoint a permanent replacement for Antonio Conte as well.
Maddison might choose stability and a move to Newcastle could appeal to him more.
The midfielder would add some much-needed creativity and goals to the side if he joined Tottenham and his arrival would help players like Kane, Son Heung-min and Richarlison improve.
