Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the French international defender Jean-Clair Todibo in recent months.
A report from Give Me Sport claims that the 24-year-old defender is still ‘on the radar’ of Tottenham and the link is ‘one to watch out for’ in the summer.
Todibo has established himself as one of the best defenders in the French league, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Tottenham.
The North London outfit have already improved the defensive unit with the signings of Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin this season. With that said, they could still use another quality central fender to complete the defensive unit for the foreseeable future.
Todibo is at the peak of his powers and he could improve Spurs instantly. They will be hoping to play in the UEFA Champions League next season and someone like Todibo could be ideal for them. They will be up against the best attackers in the world in the Champions League and they could use Todibo’s quality and experience.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old defender could improve even further with coaching and experience. He could prove to be a superb investment for the North London club.
The report claims that Manchester United could be keen on the player as well. The defender is expected to cost under £50 million. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can negotiate a reasonable fee for the French defender at the end of the season.
