Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo is closing in on a move to Turkish outfit Galatasaray.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder was heavily linked with a move for the Premier League and journalist Rudy Galetti had previously claimed that Spurs managed to agree on personal terms with the player as well.
However, they could not complete a deal to sign the Italian international before the transfer window closed in January. It remains to be seen whether the 23-year-old can hit the ground running for his new club and impress in Turkey now.
Zaniolo was regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in Italian football but his development has stalled because of persistent injury problems.
The 23-year-old will be hoping to get over his injury issues and play regularly now.

Zaniolo is still quite young and he will fancy his chances of securing a big move in the near future if he manages to impress with Galatasaray. Tottenham could certainly use a creative midfielder on their side and it will be interesting to see if they decide to return for Zaniolo in the coming seasons.
As for Galatasaray, the 23-year-old should prove to be a quality acquisition for them and he has the ability to establish himself as one of the best players in the league.
If he can get over his injury problems and put on consistent displays week in and week out, it will only be a matter of time before the top European clubs show up for him once again.
