23-year-old open to joining Tottenham and working with Antonio Conte

Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo has been heavily linked with a move away from the Italian club this month.

A report from Sport Mediaset is now claiming that the 23-year-old has said yes to a move to Tottenham Hotspur and the two clubs are now trying to reach an agreement over the fee.

Apparently, Tottenham have tried to sign the player on loan this month with an option to buy at the end of the season.

However, Roma have turned down the offer and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to come forward with an acceptable offer. Apparently, Roma value the midfielder at around £35 million.

The 23-year-old has been on the radar of Antonio Conte for a while now and the Italian manager knows all about him having watched him closely during his time in the Italian league.

Tottenham need to add more creativity in the final third and the 23-year-old Italian international could prove to be a quality long-term addition.

Apparently, the opportunity to work with Conte is an attractive proposition for the young midfielder and he is keen to join up with the Italian manager at the London club.

Tottenham are fighting for a place in the top four and signing a player like Zaniolo this month could boost their chances of Champions League qualification.

The likes of Son Heung-Min have not been at their best this season and Conte needs players who can add goals and creativity to his side. Zaniolo has the quality to improve them in the final third this season.
