23-year-old linked with Tottenham casts doubt over his future with Euro giants

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the AC Milan attacker Rafael Leão in recent months.

Italian outlet Calciomercato linked Tottenham with the Portuguese international recently, and it will be interesting to see if the Premier League club decides to sign him at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old finger has a contract with the Italian club until the summer of 2024 and AC Milan and hoping to extend his stay at the club.

However, a report from 90Min claims that Leao has now turned down the initial offer from the Italian club, and it remains to be seen whether Milan can convince him to sign an extension with them.

The player has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League and his decision to turn down the contract offer from Milan could come as a major boost for his suitors.

Tottenham could use more quality in their attack but Leao plays in a position is similar to that of Brazilian forward Richarlison. Tottenham spent big money on the 25-year-old at the start of the season and it will be interesting to see how Antonio Conte accommodates both players in his starting eleven.

Leao has been in fantastic form this season with nine goals and 10 assists to his name across all competitions for club and country. He helped Milan win the Scudetto last season as well.

The 23-year-old is still quite young and he has the potential to develop into a world-class player. There is no doubt that he would be a quality, long-term acquisition for most clubs around the world and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
