Tottenham are looking to improve their defensive options next season and they have identified the French defender Loic Bade as a potential target.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is currently on loan at Spanish club Sevilla and he has impressed with his performances in La Liga.

A report via Fichajes claims that the Frenchman is one of Tottenham’s ‘main objectives’ during the summer transfer window, and it will be interesting to see if they can agree on a fee with Rennes.

Apparently, Rennes values the defender at €10 million and Tottenham certainly have the resources to pay that.

It is no secret that Tottenham are looking to bring defensive reinforcements. Players like Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez have been hugely underwhelming this season and Japhet Tanganga has barely played for the side.

Cristian Romero is the only quality defender at the club right now. Clement Lenglet is also expected to return to his parent club at the end of the season.

Signing a central defender should be a top priority for Tottenham in the summer and Bade could prove to be a quality acquisition.

It will be interesting to see if Sevilla try and sign the player permanently at the end of the season.

However, the Spanish giants have had a very poor season and they are currently fighting for a place in the top half.

Tottenham could prove to be a more attractive destination to the player and the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League will be a tempting proposition.

Furthermore, the reported €10 million asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his qualities and he could prove to be a bargain in the long run.
